Beast King GoLion
Hyakujuu Ou GoLion
In 1999 A.D., the planet Altea is captured and enslaved by the Galra Empire. Elsewhere, five space pilots return to Earth from their latest expedition. Their homecoming is bittersweet as they return to a world devastated in the aftermath of a thermonuclear World War III. Suddenly, the explorers are ambushed and captured by beastlike soldiers from the ever expanding Galra Empire and are forced to fight in Emperor Daibazaal's colosseum.
When the opportunity presents itself, the young pilots escape aboard a stolen spaceship. While in hot pursuit by Galran strike-craft, they are guided by a mysterious light and crash land in the Kingdom of Altea. The boys are met by Princess Farah, who grants them access to five lion-type mechas so they can stand up to the tyranny of the Galra Empire. When combined, they form the ultimate fighting force in the universe - the legendary guardian GoLion.
